Welcome to our homeschool group! ENOCH is a diverse group of families with equally diverse educational philosophies. Each family makes their own decisions regarding curriculum and compliance with county and state laws.

ENOCH was formed with the conviction that the primary responsibility for the education of children rests with their parents/guardians. We are a non-registered, not-for-profit association with a decidedly Christian emphasis open to all homeschool families. Emphasis is on group activities with respect, compassion, and tolerance toward others. Serving Florida home school families in Charlotte, Sarasota and surrounding counties. Families participate in member-run activities such as Parent Education Meetings, field trips, extracurricular classes, organized P.E., parties, park days and more.

We are an online community of homeschoolers who share information, resources, and online conversation as well as planning classes, activities, field trips, and other ways to get together with other local homeschooling families. All area homeschoolers are welcome, even if they belong to other homeschooling groups or activities already. PATH serves as a way to unite the Flagler homeschooling community and provides connection for homeschoolers across group lines. We are not a religious board nor are we a secular board; all homeschoolers are welcome to participate regardless of style, philosophy, or methods used.

To protect our members, and especially our children, we ask that all new members receive a "referral" from another PATH member before joining our group. In the alternative (if you don't already know someone on PATH), you can meet one of us at some upcoming activity. When you request membership, please let us know what would work best for you.

Members are invited to check out and ADD to our databases and links sections. Visit our calendar often for homeschooler activities and add your own, too.

As a group, our “personality” is relaxed and eclectic. Some of our members' interests include John Holt's principles of growing without schooling, attachment parenting, and healthy living. We tend to be self-directed in our approach to educating our children. Our children are respected as complete human beings. It is important to us to arrange monthly events that Dads can attend too.

If you're frightened or unsure of how to unschool your child, we'll help you with that. It's far easier than any other method. You must remember…your kids are most likely far more intelligent than you think they are. Unschooling is simple, safe, and fun.

IS IT A GOOD FIT? Florida Unschoolers is NOT for you if you are looking for a group that is highly structured, academically focused, requires participation, or that asks for a statement of faith. If you're looking to be led, (rather than to be one of many, all moving in a similar direction,) this is not the group for you.

Pagan home learners of all types are welcome to join - unschooling, classical education, school-at-home, Waldorf, Montessori, box curriculum, secular, eclectic, etc.

I would like to see this group evolve into a support system and an extended family for ourselves and other non-traditional homeschoolers. This is not "my" group, it is our group. It is open for homeschool support and the special needs of pagan families: help with finding pagan, secular or alternative curriculums, pagan parenting discussions, play groups, field trips, family rituals & traditions, holidays - seasonal celebrations, Sabbats, blots, etc., drum circles, and other pagan-friendly events.

Please join our group with an introduction about yourself and your family and post freely, kindly remember that no flaming will be tolerated.

When you reply to any email message it goes to all the group members. Also, every member is able to search the archives of past messages to "catch-up" on anything that they may have missed.

Guidelines on Posting Messages:

• This is a very diverse homeschool group of many different ethnicities and creeds. Please limit your postings to educational or general information-based topics that will benefit the group as a whole. This is not a forum for promoting your political or religious beliefs and practices.
• All posts should be directed toward the group as a whole. Personal notes to one or two individuals should be directed to the individual’s personal email addresses. Member email addresses are obtainable through our database on this site.
• When posting a reply to a subject, please delete the original message. This helps minimize the length of the postings and eliminate redundancies.

This is a support group for Buddhist homeschool families in the Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida Gulf Coast region -- from Lake Charles to Pensacola. Here we can talk about how we home-school with Buddhist ethics in mind. How do we live the 4 Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path in the Culture of the South?

Eventually, we will also plan a yearly retreat for Buddhists and home school families in the Gulf Coast region. Also perhaps we will be able to meet more frequently at field trips and home school events.
