The object of teaching a child is to enable the child to get along without the teacher. We need to educate our children for their future, not our past.

Wyoming Email Lists, Support Groups, Message Boards, Forums and Newsletters
- Charlotte Mason Friends in Wyoming (Charlotte_Mason_Friends_in_Wyoming) - This group is to find other homeschoolers that are interested or are using the Charlotte Mason or Ambleside style learning in their homeschool for those families in the state of Wyoming. Not everyone in the group will be strict CM/AO users, but we will be suportive of each other and help each other to use CM/AO methods in our homeschooling environment; it will be a place to share ideas and experiences, ask questions, or learn from others.
We welcome those new and veteran users of CM; but most of us will fall somewhere in the middle of it. Our hope is for this group to also become a place to find other CM homeschoolers in your area and possibly meet for Nature Walks and the like.

- Western Nebraska Home Educators Network (WNHEN) - The Western Nebraska Home Educators Network is a voluntary network that exists to support homeschooling families in Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming with educational opportunities and support group activities that enhance their homeschool experience.
We are an "inclusive" homeschool network. We welcome all families regardless of their religious beliefs, political views, education or parenting philosophies. We do not require our members to sign a statement of faith in order to participate.
Our primary goal is to support, encourage and educate homeschooling families. We do this in two different and very distinct ways. First is our Support Group which focuses on the family! Our Support Group offers such things as field trips, special outings, campouts, activities and most importantly support for homeschooling families. Second is our Cooperative which focuses on our child's educational needs. Our Cooperative offers a variety of classes for all ages including classes which are difficult to teach at home such as Band, Choir, and Speech.
