- CentralILHSGifted (Central Illinois Home School Gifted) - This group is being started in hopes of creating a network of local families who are homeschooling gifted children. As we all know, finding friends for our gifted children and finding other parents who understand the challenges of homeschooling the gifted can be next to impossible! We are hoping that this group will change that for us.
This group is a Christian group that welcomes families using any style of home schooling. We feel that the best method is the method that works for YOUR family. And no matter what method you or the other families in the network use, there is still much to be learned from each other regarding how to educate our children who often seem to be pulling us along behind them!
If you are homeschooling your gifted child or children and live in the Central Illinois region, we invite you to join this group. We are hoping that this group can be used as a springboard to form a solid network of families for purposes such as meeting the social needs of our children, sharing in "enrichment" activities, and supporting parents.

- OffTheBeatenPath (Off The Beaten Path) - Off the Beaten Path is an inclusive support network of unschooling families based in Lake County, Illinois.
OTBP was founded in July of 2000 by some moms who met in La Leche League and decided to form a local support group for unschoolers. Since then, many, if not most of our members have their roots in LLL. The natural continuum of this gentle and respectful approach to parenting led us to homeschooling.
Unschoolers, in general, may find themselves shying away from more formal, organized homeschool groups, a situation which can make it challenging for local unschoolers to find each other.
OTBP’s mission is to provide a means for local unschoolers, and those wanting to learn more about interest-led learning, to connect and support one another.

- STLPaganParent (Saint Louis Pagan Parent Connection) - Saint Louis Pagan Parent Connection was created to help families with Pagan, wiccan (witch) or Earth centered spiritualistic beliefs or for families who seek conversation with open-minded families, like us, find each other in the St. Louis Missouri and Illinois Area.
This group has a nice mixture of pagan parents, homeschool to public, stay-at-home and otherwise. We plan to create more child-friendly events as our networking efforts gel. The average ages of our children right now range from infant to teen.
The thoughts views expressed within this group are not typically considered those of the “mainstream”. It can be very refreshing to meet other like-minded people to develop a more diverse friend base support system. Any topic is open to discussion here, even if it may not be specifically of the “pagan-parenting” concern. If it is your concern you are a pagan parent, please feel free to bring it up.
****THIS GROUP IS LIMITED TO PEOPLE WITH KIDS****, if you are not a parent, expectant family, or couple planning for a family, this group is not for you, as we are a group especially created for families and for safety and privacy based reasons, we do not accept applicants who are not parents, grandparents, or legal gaurdians of CHILDREN. Anyone wishing to join will also be asked to provide the group with a brief introducion.

- wale_online - We are the online contact point for members of the homeschooling support group called WALE - Woodfield Area Learning Exchange, a chapter of Illinois HOUSE. We are inclusive of all homeschooling styles and methods.
WHY WALE? One definition of the word 'wale' comes from the Old English: "a solid component interwoven with others whose addition increases the overall strength of the structure as a whole." We certainly hope that membership in our chapter will help provide this to the homeschooling community!
Our group sponsors drop-in park dates on a bi-weekly basis. Parent planning meetings take place at the first park date of the month. Non-sponsored individually sanctioned activities are posted on this announcement board as a courtesy for our members. We also have a parent meeting once a month at a local coffee house. These meetings are in the evening and provide a chance for the homeschooling parent to take a break from schooling and parenting, while mentoring and sharing with others. WELCOME!
