General description (or Mission Statement): Our primary focus is to help families who desire to home educate their children, to strive for educational excellence. We offer activities as well for the students. And have a large lending library of books to supplement the curriculum.
Requirements: We offer 8 faculty meetings per year, you are allowed to miss 4. We meet the first Tuesday night in August, September, November, December, February, March, May and June, at 6 pm. Our library opens at 5:30 pm and again at the close of the meeting. We have a one page form for attendance and grades. Parents choose curriculum. No requirement for number of days or hours per day, but we urge parents to come as close as they can to the number of days public school uses. We do have a policy where children must be supervised during the day by an adult. This usually is a parent but can also be a grandparent or something. We do not have a religious requirement, we trust parents to raise their children in their Faith as they see fit. State law currently does not require testing of students who attend church schools so we do not require testing.
Fees: $275 a year, paid in 11 installments of $25 a month.. This is per family ... not per child. $30 to register initially.
Services: Very large library of books, DVDs, Cd-Rom's for home computer... to supplement curriculum. Monthly support meetings. Monthly field trips for all ages. Graduation for Kindergarten as well as Seniors..(always held first Tues in June). Dual enrollment with Jeff State (11th-12th graders) We keep transcripts and sent to next school or college.
Additional Info: We sponsor a Spring Dance open to all homeschool teens 9th grade and up, in May. This dance is our equivalent of a "prom" and is very well attended.
